Making the most of the current California heatwave, which has seen some of the hottest temperatures since records began, Pratt rocked her itsy bitsy bikini and wide, floppy, straw hat.

The 24-year-old had taken a book with her to help while away the hours as she worked on her tan, but opted instead to spend her time texting on her ever present Blackberry.
Pratt, who has struggled with bulimia in the past, looked healthy and happy, at the perfect weight and in great shape.
The reality star shot to fame on the hit MTV show, The Hills, which ended its series run on July 13. Stephanie joined the cast in season three in 2007 as Spencer's angry sister who confronts Lauren Conrad, with whom her brother was engaged in a nasty battle of the words

She actually ended up befriending Conrad though, and in fact, is now fighting with her brother. Last month Stephanie claimed that she hadn't spoken to her brother in almost a year, something she says is his choice.
'In September it will be a year [since we've spoken],' she said. 'It's getting more normal and more normal.'

She says that she is there and available for her brother though whenever, or if ever, he decides he wants to talk again. 'When he's ready to come around, I'm going to greet him with open arms,' she says. 'I love him more than anything in the world. He's my blood.'
In addition to her battle with bulimia, Pratt has also struggled with substance abuse problems.

for nearly a year
She was arrested for a DUI in October 2009 and subsequently checked into a rehab facility for a 30 day residential programme. In an interview with US Weekly in 2007 she also revealed that she had a problem with shoplifting in the past.
She discussed one incident in which she shoplifted $1,300 worth of merchandise from the upscale department store Niemen Marcus, in Honolulu in 2006, while working as a production assistant on the hit show, Lost.
