The couple, whose absence at the Rooney McLoughlin nuptials proved to be a big talking point, had clearly planned their own event to mark their first year together as husband and wife.
And despite her dislike of exercise, Alex even embarked on a fitness regime to get her in great shape for the States.
She explained: 'Steven and I are really looking forward to going on holiday to America next month, where we’ll celebrate our first wedding anniversary.

She added: 'I’ve started running because although I don’t want to lose weight, I do want to tone up and get healthy for the summer.'
I find it hard to motivate myself but my mum comes with me and we run round the park together and she makes sure I don’t stop.'
The couple arrived in Miami with Steven's cousin, her boyfriend and another couple.
