He's known for being an incredible athlete who trains hard for success. But Olympic champion Michael Phelps looked completely relaxed yesterday as he spent time at the pool with girlfriend Nicole Johnson. The swimming champ is holidaying in Maui, Hawaii with the Miss California model.

And it's clear the he didn't have a care in the world as he and Johnson laid out and enjoyed the sun. Wearing a very colourful pair of swimming trunks, 25-year-old Phelps leaned over at one point and kissed his partner, who looked stunning in a white bikini.
But the couple didn't ignore their fellow holidaymakers - Phelps was more than happy to sign autographs and pose for pictures.
Phelps and Nicole share a smoochHe shouldn't take it too easy, especially after being supplanted this summer by team mate Ryan Lochte as the world's best swimmer. But Phelps is confident he will be a champion again, and that he won't be taking another vacation until after the 2012 Olympics.
"If everything I want to happen will happen, then it's going to take a lot," he tells USA Today. Lochte won four individual gold medals to Phelps' two at the Pan Pacs this month, and Phelps is determined to regain his superiority. 'He's pushed me a lot over the last two weeks or so, Phelps says. 'I see what I have to do and what I need to change to be able to get back up there.'
