She was born and bred in Bromley, but Pixie Lott looked every inch the California girl as she lounged by a pool in Los Angeles. The 20-year-old Mama Do singer is currently in America working on songs for a new album, but she was clearly enjoying her day off. Pixie was joined by boyfriend Oliver Cheshire at an LA hotel pool, and the couple put on a very steamy public display of affection, kissing and cuddling on their sun loungers.

Pixie is set to follow up her debut film with a starring role in UK movie Sweet Baby Jesus, with Bette Midler, Robbie Coltrane and Sean Brosnan. The comedy, slated for release this year, stars Pixie as 'a pregnant girl named Mary who goes back to Bethlehem Maryland at Christmas time.'

Her decision to holiday during the high-profile festival indicates that she is still determined to revive her presenting career despite failing to win ratings with her chat show Lily Allen and Friends on BBC3. But she told our reporter it is a coincidence she is in Cannes at the same time and "can't be bothered with the festival" or attending any parties. Lily is currently said to be working on a TV comedy with Gavin & Stacey stars Mathew Horne and James Corden.
