When it rains it pours - especially in Peru!

The old saying when it rains it pours has never been so true! A few years ago our production company, Two Bees and a Pea Productions, filmed a pilot with a very famous woodworker. The pilot was beautiful and probably could have been sold as a DVD - but, we got the order for 78 more Creative Juice episodes and the 6-part Halloween special so we got busy fulfilling the Creative Juice order and the pilot had to put on the back burner.

Well, yesterday we had lunch with Mr. Woodworker (a delicious Thai lunch in San Dimes) and we picked up where we left off and have decided to follow him with cameras on his next trek into Peru. The Woodworker specializes in hand tools and forest management and works with small villages deep in the rainforest and jungles to help the locals with forest management and he teaches them how to craft the wood into furniture and novelties that can be sold to other parts of the world.

Many of the villages are "off the grid" with no power and all the tools are worked by hand or foot. It is absolutely amazing! The photos from his last trip to Honduras trip were not only moving but very inspiring. The craftspeople are now suppling the outdoor retailer Smith and Hawken with their furniture.

The Woodworkers next trip will be in deep in Peru. So deep, that it is a 2 day tretchorous drive from Lima. The accommodations will be sparse; wood planks, sleeping bags and Mosquito netting. Our camera batteries will be charged by generator and we are planning on purchasing the new smaller High Def camera for this trip. Of course we will have our cannon digital for stills along for the ride.

It is going to be a busy 2 months - of course I would not want it any other way.
