Gemma Atkinson dresses as a schoolgirl in Calendar Girls

It's been only eight years since Gemma Atkinson left school.

But last night, the former Hollyoaks actress couldn't wait to relive her schooldays as she dressed up as a sexy schoolgirl.

Fresh from her last night playing Elaine in the West End production of Calendar Girls, the 24-year-old headed to the School Disco club night in Fitzrovia.

In keeping with the strict dress code, the I'm A Celebrity star showed off her curves in a tiny grey pleated skirt, white blouse, black tank top and knee high socks.

Joining a group of friends at the Portland Girls School in Great Portland Street, Gemma spent the night dancing to retro pop classics including Black Lace's Agadoo, Chesney Hawkes' The Only And Only and Wham! Wake Me Up Before You Go Go.

Gemma isn't the first celebrity to visit the long-running clubnight - Kate Beckinsale, David Hasselhoff, Mick Jagger and Sinitta have all been spotted in attendance over the past few years.

As she larked around at the club night until 2am on Sunday morning, Gemma played a big of air guitar with an inflatable instrument.

After three months starring on the West End stage, Gemma was clearly in the mood to let her hair down.

Gemma co-starred in the Noel Coward Theatre production of Calendar Girls alongside Jill Halfpenny, June Brown, Jack Ryder and Jerry Hall.

While her older co-stars stripped off for their roles, Gemma was one of the only characters to keep her clothes on.

Despite her past penchant for posing in her bikini for men's magazine, Gemma said she is turning her back on skimpy photo shoots so she can be taken seriously as an actress.

Gemma shows off her musical skills

Gemma said: 'I did bikini stuff but I didn't do topless - even though I was asked to so many times. My agent told me once you've done that, you can't go back, so you're best to either stop or go full out with it.

'I took the decision to stop. It's very tempting as it is ridiculous money but you need to think long-term. And as far as the lads' mags are concerned, I don't think I will be doing any in the future.'

Three years after leaving Hollyoaks, Gemma is returning to TV to star in an episode of The Bill.

Gemma will play a prisoner's girlfriend named Ria Crossley in an upcoming episode to be screened this month.
